Day 1 USA/Quito: Depart the USA on your flight to Quito. Meeting and transfer to your hotel. Day 2 Quito: Your morning sightseeing takes you back to Quito's colonial past including the top of Panecillo Hill for a panoramic view of the city. You'll also tour the House of Congress with its artistic murals depicting Ecuador's history. B Day 3 Quito: After breakfast travel north to reach the "Awakening Valley," home to Otavalo, Ecuador's most popular arts and crafts Indian markets. After lunch return to Quito. B L Day 4 Quito/Lima: Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Meeting and transfer to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure. B Day 5 Lima: Enjoy a morning tour of the "City of Kings," founded in 1535. Also tour the San Francisco Monastery, Government Palace, Cathedral and the residential district of San Isidro. B Day 6 Lima/Cuzco: Morning flight to Cuzco with meeting and transfer to your hotel. An afternoon city tour includes the gigantic fortresses of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko and Tombamachay. B Day 7 Cuzco/Machu Picchu: In the morning take a train ride to the base of Machu Picchu, "Lost City of the Incas," continuing by bus to the famous ruins for a guided tour of the site. Stop for lunch and some free time for personal exploration of this archeological wonder before returning to Cuzco. (Overnight at Machu Picchu is available in area hotels with a modified itinerary, please inquire.) B Day 8 Cuzco/Puno: Transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Juliaca on the Altiplano. Continue by bus to Puno for an afternoon visit of the floating islands of the Uros Indians. Overnight on the shores of Lake Titicaca. (In case of flight cancellation, an Altiplano 9-hour train ride is available with a modified itinerary.) B Day 9 Puno/Lake Titicaca Crossing/Huatajata: Morning transfer to July to board a hydrofoil for cruising Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Visit Copacabana with its famous Cathedral and legendary Sun Island before proceeding to Huatajata. Overnight at selected hotel where you will be treated to a candlelight dinner of local trout. Later, visit the Kallawaya Museum for an audiovisual presentation of the region. B D Day 10 Huatajata/La Paz: After breakfast depart for the ancient city of Tiwanacu to tour the ruins. Continue to La Paz. Balance of day at leisure. B Day 11 La Paz: Morning sightseeing includes the Colonial Museum, Murillo Home, San Francisco Church, the colorful Indian markets and "Valley of the Moon." Afternoon at leisure. B Day 12 La Paz/Santiago: Transfer to the airport for your flight to Santiago. Meeting and transfer to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure. B Day 13 Santiago: Today you'll enjoy a morning tour of San Cristobal Hill with its breathtaking views of the city. Tour Las Condes, the Main Avenues, Forestry and O'Higgins Parks, Museum of Fine Arts and La Moneda Presidential Palace. Afternoon at leisure. B Day 14 Santiago: Full-day at leisure for optional tours of Vina del Mar and Valparaiso or other exciting sites. B Day 15 Santiago/USA: Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA.B Day 16 USA: Early morning arrival.
