Panama Singles Adventure - 9 Days/ 8 Nights
This is a memorable tour for solo travelers from around the world which is not only enjoyable, but affordable. This tour features a unique eco-experience with the Embera Indians, living along the Chagres River near the Panama Canal. The group will also stay at the Decameron Resort at Playa Blanca on the Pacific Ocean, with spectacular swimming pools and a variety of day and night entertainment. Finally, we will visit La Posada del Cerro La Vieja to hike through tropical forest with an expert nature guide. Discover Panama’s diverse cultural and natural beauty with new friends.
Who can join this group?
Participants should range in age from 25-45 and be interested in meeting other fellow travelers. This adventure is perfect for those interested in nature, outdoor activities and the “path less traveled” with a small group of like-minded people. Participants should be in reasonably good shape and should anticipate a moderately-challenging outdoor experience.

Day 1: Arrive to Panama
Arrive at Panama International Airport, where you will be welcomed by an ALTURA representative and escorted to your hotel in Panama City. A short explanation will be given about the itinerary. Lodging will be at a hotel in the city.

Day 2: Chagres National Park / Indian Village
After breakfast visit a paradise found in its purest form. The tour leaves Panama City at 8:00 AM and begins with a ride in a "piragua" (a native boat) along the route commonly used by the Indians for their daily transport along the Chagres River. Hike through a forest with a local indigenous guide who is an expert at explaining the botanical novelties and the culture of this authentic Chocoe-Embera village. In the village, the tribe will share their culture through dances, rituals and a typical native lunch. You will have the opportunity to partake in "jagua", body painting with vegetable ink. Arrival back in Panama City is estimated at 4:00 PM. (BL)

Day 3: El Valle Mountain Town
This excursion begins early in the morning with a two-hour drive along the Pan-American Highway to the beautiful mountain town of El Valle de Anton in the province of Cocle. According to geologists, El Valle is the crater of a dormant volcano, probably the largest in Central America. The cool and pleasant climate in this picturesque valley rises approximately 730 meters above sea level and has a great variety of attractions such as Indian petroglyphs, hot springs, waterfalls, rock climbing and a variety of hikes for all abilities. Upon arrival, visit the Sunday Indian Market where large selections of native and national handicrafts are on sale. The tour continues with a visit to the ancient petroglyphs of the El Chorro Macho Waterfall and other areas of intrest. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Panama City in the late afternoon. Days 4-5: Decameron Costa Blanca Resort
The Pacific side’s most beautiful beach is just 90 minutes from Panama City and 45 minutes from El Valle. Here, we will relax with the facilities of this new and all-inclusive beachfront hotel. You can walk on the beach at sunset, sip piña coladas under a palm umbrella on the beach and enjoy water sports in the warm Pacific Ocean. Hotel includes: open bar, snack grill and pizzeria, sports equipment (sunfish, kayaks, windsurfers, mask & snorkel), tennis, volleyball and discotheque with shows and music every night. (BLD)

Day 6: Posada del Cerro la Viejo
You will be picked up at Decameron for a surface transfer to Posada del Cerro la Vieja in Chiguiri Arriba forest. Enjoy a peaceful two-night stay at this eco-lodge. Discover the hotel’s rejuvenating mud baths, nearby waterfall and enjoy Panamanian cuisine in a remarkable setting on the slope of La Vieja Hill. (BLD)

Day 7: Posada del Cerro la Vieja
An optional dawn hiking tour is offered when the nature is at its best. Pure Adventure! The rest of the day can be spent exploring La Vieja Hill or visiting Tavida Falls, where you will find tropical birds, monkeys and lush vegetation. (BLD)

Day 8: Panama City
You will be transferred to your hotel and have breakfast when you return to Panama City. Your day will be free for exploration at your leisure and to relax. (B)

Day 9: Departure
Transfer to the international airport approximately two hours before your scheduled departure time. (No meals)
